The blurred year of 2021

This year was challenging in many ways, but it was a rewarding one also. Many people (want to) do a yearly review (and we should do this more than once a year for sure), but it is hard to find a proper amount of time for it in all daily struggles and holidays in the year's end.

If I step back and take a look at my professional life this year, I can notice a few major things that happen this year:
- I think I have been using remote freelance the way it suits me the best and this client work with no strong strings attached allowed me to spend almost half of this year with my wife and little son when they needed me the most. That was the benefit that no other company or way of doing business could offer me so I feel grateful for it
- I have published my first (and hopefully not last) app in the App Store called BlurMe App. It is a small utility app that lets users blur the image in the amount they want so it can be used as wallpaper. I use this approach for quite some time now and wanted to bring it to others also. I did not make any press releases, social networks marketing, or stuff like that so it surprised me that after 2 months it has almost 100 active users. For some, it will look like nothing, but I feel proud when I know that 100 persons out there find and stick to my app. This app was done in my spare time (that was almost non existing in this period), but I want to continue working on my ideas (that I have a lot of) and potentially switch to Indie development full time.
- This year I have read a lot of books, fiction, and non-fiction also. But with all this consuming I noticed that I did a lot more creating this year. I have started this blog, made some illustrations, and create several mobile applications.
- Last thing is related to the one above I have started to take notes for the stuff that I read / see / hear so I can take a look later when I forgot about it or when I need this later on (that is how Resonance Blog posts idea come to life). It took some time for me to realize that, but I feel now more relaxed and it makes me read even more!

Let's hope that the next year will be more fulfilling and enjoyable
